Non-Drinking:
The act of not consuming alcohol.
While abstinence is often associated with forced or willful restraint—sometimes for legal or religious reasons—non-drinking is closer to a conscious choice.

It is a stance taken from a philosophical or spiritual perspective that seeks to keep the body and mind clear and pure.
It is the strength to stay centered amidst the temptations of the world,
a deep, intentional decision to keep a certain distance from the world without disconnecting from it.

Examples of Practicing Non-Drinking in Daily Life

  • Taking a walk instead of drinking when feeling down
  • Replacing alcohol with non-alcoholic beverages on holidays or special occasions
  • Choosing water or soft drinks at drinking gatherings instead of alcohol

※ Non-drinking focuses not just on “not drinking alcohol”,
but on the ongoing effort to maintain mental clarity and spiritual balance.
